OUR MISSION
Tails of Valor®, established with passion and love for our Veterans in 2014, is a unique animal assisted psychotherapy
framework of canine rehabilitation. Our programs are recommended by behavioral health professionals to take a
non medicinal journey learning to cope with and understand Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
Our mission is to provide rehabilitation through non-medicinal therapies and our canine assisted service programs provide human/canine bonding while on a Journey With A Purpose®. All of our programs treat the whole person, not just the symptoms of the problem.
Journey With A Purpose®
Our canines begin by enhancing a therapeutic environment which will reduce friction caused when experiencing social activities, thus leading to increased communication and focus. Our wellness staff provides the support needed for positive physical and mental health social interactions during sessions with our canines, all of who are named in honor of a fallen soldier. Each particular activity, command or exercise, taught during their journey of training, motivates and inspires activities to mitigate symptoms of PTS and TBI. All our canines have been socialized and desensitized to exposures of everyday living, as well as all commanding and tasking that is specific to their human. These highly-skilled ADA/AASI/TOV guideline canines are given at no cost to our applicants.
Our canine assisted services help our clients heal from trauma stressor related injuries including PST (Post Traumatic Stress) and/or TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). The programs are designed for therapeutic activities with goals for change and the expectation of identifiable progress. This focus and concentration is on an ability rather than a disability and is the motivating factor allowing all to improve capabilities of post traumatic growth.
Our patented program offers some of the following programs to include: AAT is a non-medicinal goal oriented option used to enhance and complement traditional therapy. AAA is a non-medicinal less goal directed option with the key benefit of spontaneous interaction to alleviate emotional distress or general stress symptoms. All services are provided at no cost to our clients. These recovery-oriented programs are for those seeking to define what is preventing them from achieving quality-of-life measures. These programs offered with the bond of a canine bring awareness of behaviors, fears, and attitudes to overcome for individual post traumatic growth.
We believe that valid intervention will lead to increased long-term behavioral development that is positive for all clients and their families. Our canine assisted programs offer opportunities to interact with members of the community and experience positive interactions with society. Our commitment is lifetime to participatory clients served.
The Restorative Path
As times have changed, so have we, by expanding to reach our communities needs with our newest complementary program, launching February of 2026. - "The Restorative Path."
The Restorative Path is a wellness program intentionally designed to support those we serve to continue their journey toward healing and growth. This program combines multiple alternative healing modalities such as sound-based therapies, body-based recovery techniques, and mindfulness practices to help participants address stress and trauma in ways that complement traditional care. Alongside these modalities, participants receive structured mentorship, practical nutritional guidance, and access to a strong peer community that reinforces trust, purpose, and connection.
Our alternative approaches used are carefully selected to support the nervous system, improve emotional regulation, and create sustainable long-term wellness outcomes. Our objective is for our clients to be equipped with tools, relationships, and strategies that support continued healing well beyond the program itself. We believe that valid intervention will lead to increased long-term behavioral development that is positive for all participants including their families and the communities they love and live in.
Tails of Valor® is privately funded by generous donors wanting to give back.
