Named in Honor of Sr. Chief Petty Officer Scott Cooper Dayton

Senior Chief Petty Officer Scott Cooper Dayton, 42, a native of Woodbridge, VA was killed on November 24, 2016 by an improvised bomb in northern Syria.
He was a 23-year veteran of the United States Navy where he served as a member of an elite Navy Special Operations community known as Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD). Senior Chief Dayton was highly regarded by his peers, deploying multiple times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, and received multiple awards, including two Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart Medal.
At the time of his death, he was attached to a forward-deployed special operations unit in Syria in support of Combined Joint Task Force, Operation Inherent Resolve.
